shaping futures one bloom, one build, one breakthrough at a time

The Bloomhaven Mission

The Bloomhaven Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit work-study program headquartered in Charleston, SC. We are leading the way in creating job opportunities for teens living in group care and foster homes as they prepare to leave care through an immersive, hands-on floral design program.

At Bloomhaven, we believe floral design can be a tool for healing, confidence, and connection. It’s not about perfection — it’s about the process and what it unlocks in each student.

Beyond the beauty of the arrangements, programs like this offer real, tangible skills — opening the door for students to one day step into the world of floral design, weddings, and creative entrepreneurship when they’re ready to spread their wings. Youth leaving foster care face disproportionately high rates of unemployment, educational setbacks, and homelessness. We are actively changing this narrative by preparing our 300 students (and growing) for careers in the event industry, offering job placements, housing opportunities, and ongoing mentorship and community support for our graduates.

The Bloomhaven Foundation strives to provide a safe place for foster youth to blossom and thrive through the healing power of flowers. Together, we are cultivating futures — one heart, one bloom, one breakthrough at a time.

Get Involved

Bloomhaven is 100% volunteer led and funded by donations from the community. We need people like YOU to join our army of Bloom Warriors so we can continue blossoming.

There are a number of ways to be hands-on with your support for us: join a committee, help in classes, pick up flowers, host a fundraiser, donate a million dollars. Haha!

Make a donation

Every penny makes a lasting difference. Your support today will help us continue to share the healing power of flowers with children all over South Carolina. We are currently working to raise $1,000,000 to provide FREE floral art therapy, job training, counseling, aftercare housing, internships, and family services as we expand Bloomhaven classes to group homes across South Carolina.

Donate Your Wedding Flowers

Hey, Charleston brides & grooms! Are you wondering what happens to your flowers after the wedding?

Sadly, they usually go right in the trash after the reception ends, but we’re changing that by giving your blooms a second life at our weekly flowers classes!
