INTRODUCING BLOOMHAVEN

Introducing the Bloomhaven Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit based in Charleston, SC

We are leading the way in creating job opportunities for teens as they prepare to leave care and bringing free floral art therapy to younger children living in group homes through an immersive, hands-on floral design program.

At Bloomhaven, we believe floral design can be a tool for healing, confidence, and connection. It’s not about perfection — it’s about the process and what it unlocks in each student.

Beyond the beauty of the arrangements, programs like this offer real, tangible skills — opening the door for students to one day step into the world of floral design, weddings, and creative entrepreneurship when they’re ready to spread their wings. Youth leaving foster care face disproportionately high rates of unemployment, educational setbacks, and homelessness. We are actively changing this narrative by preparing our students for careers in the event industry, offering job placements, housing opportunities, and ongoing mentorship and community support for our graduates.

What began as a work-study program led by Sara Skinner of Scarlet & Co for 10 teens in November 2024 has quickly blossomed into an initiative serving hundreds of children in group homes across the Lowcountry. In our very first year we have provided job training and floral art therapy classes for more than 220 children ages 6 through 21 years old. And we’re just getting started!

The Bloomhaven Foundation strives to provide a safe place for foster youth to blossom and thrive through the healing power of flowers. Together, we are cultivating futures — one heart, one bloom, one breakthrough at a time.
